We know smoking is bad for our health but so is social isolation and loneliness.

It’s not something that just afflicts the elderly, certain cultures or gender.
Of those surveyed, young adults are the loneliest (62%) compared to the over 65’s who are the least lonely (46%).

With more people living and or working alone through choice or circumstance, it’s time to address the issue or loneliness as it’s forecast to become the next major public health issue.

The patients of empathetic doctors recover more quickly from illness.

But research has confirmed a serious empathy deficit in the health arena with 56% of doctors reportedly saying they don’t have time for empathy.

But the reality is being empathetic takes no time at all. A 40 second interlude of empathy and kindness has been shown to result in significantly reduced anxiety levels.
